Massie Township –Back to the Renaissance

Massie Township –Back to the Renaissance 800 800 Cincinnati Real Estate | Rock N Roll Real Estate Team

Massie Township is located along Interstate 71 between Cincinnati and Columbus. You can take that thoroughly modern road to travel back to the Renaissance every September and October. Or you can visit a more “recent” pioneer village. Plus, Massie Township is a great place to live if you want city amenities with a rural feel.

Massie Township

Spread over 13,622 acres (21 square miles), Massie Township has only 1,155 people (as of 2015). If you are looking for a rural lifestyle that has city amenities, like waste disposal and fire protection, take a look at Massie Township. At only 41 miles from Cincinnati, it could be a reasonable commute. For more information on townships, follow this link.

Massie Township Homes

Since Massie Township has been in existence since 1850, you can find a variety of homes for sale. Right now, there is land for sale, providing room to roam, this is a great place. The largest village, Harveysburg, is right next to Caesars Creek State Park. Property there could provide you with a great weekend get-away.

Massie Township Schools

Clinton-Massie Local Schools runs the local schools. The offer one elementary, one middle, and one high school. According to their website, the high school improved in four out of five categories on the 2017 ACT. The district composite score was 22.4, ranking them in 20th place again all southwestern Ohio schools.

The Massie Township Fun Stuff

Massie Township has two great draws. Every weekend in September and October, travel back to the Renaissance at the Ohio Renaissance Festival. Willy Nilly on the Wash is a permanent village recreating 16th Century England. Its located near Harveysburg and offers jousting, food, comedy troupes, human powered rides and more. With 150 artisans creating wares with a Renaissance touch, you’ll find unique presents for everyone.
The other wonderful feature of this area is Caesars Creek State Park. Massie Township used to be much larger, but after Caesars Creek was dammed, 7,900 acres became a state park. The resulting park offers boating, swimming, picnicking, trails for horses, hikers and mountain bikers. With proper licenses, you can hunt and fish in the park as well. The park also offers a nature center and visitor center where you can learn about the park and who lives in it.
If you’d like to check out this terrific area and all its great features, give me a call. I’d love to show you what is available.
